Erin Taniguchi is an illustrator and printmaker based in Vancouver, Canada. Her love of fantasy along with Norse, Greek, Japanese and Egyptian mythology influence her work. Other influences include animals and handmade items. Erin is currently working on a series based on Japanese mythology.
She pulls together tradition and technology to create unique pieces that tell stories through image. You can see reflections of relief printing in her work, giving each piece texture and depth. She specializes in linocut combined with digital technology to produce art that is textured and bold.
Her work can be described as thought-provoking, weighty and contemplative. Erin is easy to work with, open to ideas and meets deadlines. Magazines throughout Canada and the USA have featured her illustration. She is often commissioned to illustrate for works of fiction, current affairs and political articles.
She takes a more traditional approach to her fine art, where she focuses on etching. You can find her fine art at her shared studio space at the Dundarave Print Workshop on Granville Island, an excellent place to visit when in Vancouver. You can buy her fine art at Dundarave or in one of her shows around Vancouver. You choose. She ships.
With a fine arts degree from Emily Carr and nine years working as an artist, Erin enjoys creating art, teaching art skills, and supporting other artists with their journey.
